YANKTON, S.D. (AP) — A new book by South Dakota Magazine marks the state’s 125th anniversary by including a photo for each year of statehood.

“South Dakota 125: A Pictorial History” also has detailed captions and a brief history of each decade.

The magazine’s publisher, Bernie Hunhoff, wrote the book with John Andrews and Roger Holtzmann.

Hunhoff told the Press & Dakotan it gives readers “a real taste of the strength and resilience of the people of South Dakota.”
