South Dakota is the Second Happiest State in the Country

Gallup just released their Well-Being index and the happiest state in America is North Dakota. South Dakota was the second happiest state.

The Well-Being index looks at life evaluation, emotional health, work environment, physical health, healthy behaviors, and access to basic necessities to determine the scores.

If it looked at pleasantness of weather the Dakotas probably would have come in around #48 & 49.

Our corner of the country is pretty happy. Nebraska was #3, Minnesota was #4, and Iowa was #10 on the list of happiest states.

West Virginia was the unhappiest state followed by Kentucky and Mississippi.
