When I was a kid growing up the farm my Dad had maybe, oh, 20 pigs of varying sizes over there in that old hog house. He'd pick up a few at the Pipestone Auction Barn, and sell a few to make room.

Times have changed.

According to Aberdeennews.com, a hog farm operation near Stratford will be expanding their swine operation to about 10,000 head or so. But that's not all.

The facility will also include some 770 beef cattle, 150 dairy cows and 125 dairy heifers.

The public can make comments and the brown County Commission still needs to give their stamp of approval.
