May is typically a time of year in South Dakota when you can expect the South Dakota Highway Patrol to step things up a bit.  This year is no exception. The South Dakota Highway patrol  recently announced their May, 2016 Sobriety Checkpoints.  According to South Dakota State News:

May checkpoints are planned for the counties of: Brown, Bennett, Brookings, Butte, Charles Mix, Codington, Day, Hughes, Jackson, Jerauld, Lawrence, Minnehaha, Roberts, Tripp, Union and Yankton.

While some look at the announcement as a warning, others look at is a reminder. Drink responsibly, and don't drink and drive.
