South Dakota GF&P Review Meetings Set in 3 Cities
RAPID CITY, S.D. (AP) – Public meetings are scheduled in three South Dakota cities this week to talk about management of big game in the state.
Gov. Dennis Daugaard earlier this year called for an independent review after months of controversy over elk, deer and lion management.
The Rapid City Journal reports that officials with the nonprofit Wildlife Management Institute will host meetings Tuesday in Brookings, Wednesday in Pierre and Thursday in Rapid City.
The institute is tasked with coming up with ways to improve big game management in the state. Its report is due to the governor in October.
