South Dakota Fatality

A Wessington Springs man died Thursday morning in a two-vehicle crash on state Highway 34 about two miles west of Wessington Springs in Jerauld County.

The Highway Patrol says 63-year-old Ronald Ogren was eastbound driving a Ford farm tractor.

He tried to make a left turn into a private driveway and turned in front of a fuel truck driven westbound by 28-year-old Joshua McGillvrey of Wolsey.

The impact threw Ogren from the tractor and he died at the scene.

McGillvrey was wearing a seatbelt. He received minor injuries.

The crash occurred just before 9:45am.

The Highway Patrol is still investigating.
