RAPID CITY, S.D. (AP) — Four South Dakota National Guard soldiers who served nine months in Afghanistan are back home.

The soldiers with the 1978th Contingency Contracting Team were welcomed home Tuesday during a public ceremony in Rapid City. Gov. Dennis Daugaard was one of the officials on hand.

The unit deployed last November to help support U.S. and coalition forces in Afghanistan. The soldiers administered contracts for hundreds of millions of dollars' worth of services and commodities during their tour.
