Soft drink machines in Sioux Falls hotels have been a frequent target for burglars recently.

Police Information Officer Sam Clemens says the latest report came from a hotel in the southwest part of the city, where pop machines on the second, third and fourth floors were forcibly entered. He says hotel officials told police the burglaries occurred sometime between the 6th and the 13th of September, and they put their loss at less than $40.

Clemens says around 20 machines have been burglarized  in the past month, with several on West Russell Street and one on North Cliff Avenue.

He says some of the machines were inside the buildings and some were outside.
