A celebrated fashion designer is sparking controversy in Washington D-C circles by refusing to dress the incoming First Lady, Melania Trump.

Sophie Theallet, who has designed several outfits for the current First Lady Michelle Obama, says she will not be associated in any way with Melania Trump.

Writing an open letter to others in the fashion industry, Theallet says, "She will not participate in dressing or associating in any way with the next First Lady."

In the letter she urges other stylists to also stand up to what she calls "the racism, sexism, and xenophobia unleashed by Trump's Presidential campaign."

Despite Theallet's letter, Mrs. Trump shouldn't have a problem finding outfits to wear. While campaigning she was seen wearing outfits by Ralph Lauren, Gucci and Michael Kors.
