Two NBADL division leaders meet for two games this weekend. Sioux Falls took the first of the two matches 112-95 at the Portland Expo Building.

The Skyforce (29-7) have controlled the Central Division since the early stages of the season. Meanwhile Maine (21-15) has been trading the Atlantic Division lead with Westchester over the past few weeks.

After playing close in the first quarter, Sioux Falls built a 19-point lead in the second frame by limiting Maine to 35 percent shooting while inducing the hosts into foul trouble. The Red Claws committed 11 fouls in the period which sent the Skyforce to the line 16 times.

Nine straight to close the half with a 12-6 run to begin the third quarter by Maine made the game interesting. The lead eventually grew to 27 points in the fourth quarter which spoiled the return of the D-League 2015 MVP Tim Fraizer for the Red Claws. Sioux Falls had their own good news to report on the player front as Jarnell Stokes will return to the team starting next for weekend's games against the Grand Rapids Drive.

Rodney McGruder who spent part of last year with the Red Claws came back to burn his former team with 29 points, 11 rebounds and 3 steals. Two other Skyforce players posted career high point totals with Briante Weber contributed 26 points, 6 rebounds and 5 steals while Jabril Trawick added 23 points while missing only 2 shots all night (8-9 FG, 7-8 FT).

Five Red Claws finished in double figures with Coty Clarke at the top with 24 points and the aforementioned Fraizer back to his productive self (16 points, 8 assists, 7 rebounds). The win gives Sioux Falls their third seven-game win streak this season.
