A Sioux Falls husband and wife were arguing about their relationship Wednesday night when violence erupted.

"At one point in time the woman dumped a bunch of bleach around the room," according to Police Spokesman Sam Clemens.

"She had some clothes hanging on the door. She used a lighter to set a fire. The wife also threw a bunch of objects. The husband was struck and received some cuts. The fire was put out rather quickly and then police were called. She was arrested for the aggravated assault and reckless burning."

Aside from setting the fire, Clemens says the 53-year-old wife also threatened to burn her 48-year-old husband.

"Yes, she made some comments to threaten to kill him. But, really didn't have any specific means of how she was going to do that."

Clemens identified the wife as Malinda Louise Hutchinson.
