Sioux Falls Suicide Survivor Speaks Out

Every 14 minutes, someone in the United States dies by suicide.  Sandy Parham of Sioux Falls knows that for a fact!  Sandy is a suicide survivor.

Sandy, who now works with the Helpline Center in Sioux Falls, says there were 32 suicide deaths in Minnehaha County in 2011 and 139 deaths in South Dakota in 2010.

In fact, suicide is the 9th leading cause of death in South Dakota, and the 2nd leading cause of death for anyone under the age of 45 in South Dakota.
