The Sioux Falls Stampede have the best goalkeeper in the country.

Charlie Lindgren is the USA Hockey Dave Peterson Goalie of the Year.  In a Stampede press release, Lindgren said:

It’s a great honor, but truly an award I couldn’t have won without the help of my teammates.  It’s really a special award that I will carry with me the rest of my life.

This season, Lindgren led the USHL with 35 wins, while also set Stampede single season record. He had a 2.80 Goals-Against-Average (GAA), a .900 save percentage and allowed two or fewer goals on 24 occasions while posting two shutouts.

Lindgren will be honored at the 2013 Annual Congress on June 5 in Colorado Springs.

The Lakeville, Minnesota native, will be heading to college hockey in the fall, playing for former Stampede head coach Bob Motzko at St. Cloud State.
