Meteorologist Jen Hacker of the National Weather Service says Monday's snow storm broke some records in several cities, including Sioux Falls.

"Up through midnight we have seen anywhere from about five to nine inches across the area. Here in Sioux Falls our storm total through midnight was around eight point seven inches here at the airport. Around the area---Huron had around five and a half inches, over six and a half down in Sioux City and right around seven inches in Mitchell. For Sioux Falls, Mitchell and Sioux City---they all broke daily records for November 30th.

Hacker says Sioux Falls could get several inches of additional snow on Tuesday.

Rich Steffen of the Sioux Falls Street Department says crews will be working on residential streets on Tuesday.

"It just lingers on is all. Just keeps lingering. We've had flurries and stuff. We are just going to pull off emergency routes and just plowing residential streets."

Sioux Falls is currently under a snow alert.

Monday's snow resulted in 71 accidents from 10:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M. in Sioux Falls.
