Sioux Falls Urban Planner Russ Sorenson says the city is working with the Pettigrew Heights Neighborhood Association to improve safety.

"This announcement is great news for Sioux Falls," Russ told me.  "This safety and lighting program will be conducted throughout the rest of the year and completed in 2013.  It involves installing 59 new light opportunities, new poles, increased lights for wattage as well as new fixtures."

Kathryn Henning works with the Pettigrew Heights Neighborhood Association.

"I'm excited about the new lights coming into our neighborhood.  This is a great example of how forming a neighborhood association can really help with getting major projects done.  The city has been great.  This all happened in one month."

What a great success story---the city and its residents working together to create a better Sioux Falls!
