Sioux Falls Robbery Leads to Drug Arrests
A report of a robbery and an assault led to the arrests of several people on drug charges in Sioux Falls early Wednesday.
Information Officer Sam Clemens says police were called just after midnight to an apartment in the 800 block of West 4th Street, where a 66-year-old Sioux Falls man told officers he had been attacked while he was sleeping.
The man said someone entered the room where he was sleeping, punched him and took his wallet and cellphone.
Clemens says several other people were in the apartment, and he says officers found drug paraphernalia and some drug residue, so those people were arrested.
Clemens says four women and one man who were in the apartment were charged, mostly with inhabiting a room where drugs are kept.
He says three of the five are from Sioux Falls, while the man and one of the women are identified as transients.
