SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) — A Minnesota man accused of going on a rampage in Sioux Falls with a stolen car in February has pleaded guilty to robbery and aggravated assault charges, including assault on a law officer.

The Argus Leader reports 36-year-old Jeremy Albers, of Hills, Minnesota, reached a plea deal with prosecutors that would cap prison time at 40 years and set restitution at about $49,320. A judge must agree.

Police say Albers on Feb. 2 fled on foot from the scene of a vehicle crash, stole another vehicle and assaulted a woman who was still inside when he drove away. They say he swerved at police officers before crashing the vehicle.

Defense attorney Victoria Reker said in court Wednesday that Albers was drunk during the incident and does not remember it.
