Eight men are charged after a reverse prostitution sting conducted Thursday afternoon and evening.

Sioux Falls Police Chief Doug Barthel  says the department placed two fictitious ads on an internet site, advertising women for escort services.  The chief says police are disappointed with the large number of responses to the ads.

Barthel says six of the men who were arrested were from Sioux Falls, with one from Centerville and the other from St. Joseph, Minnesota.

Three of the eight were charged with two counts of hiring for sexual activity and the others were charged with one count.

Barthel says he expects similar stings to be conducted in the future.
