Sioux Falls Police Officer Sam Clemens says a weekend Saturation Patrol will take place in the city.

"Officers will be looking for those normal traffic violations---DWI's, reckless driving, speeding, seat belt violations. We just want people to know the Saturation Patrol will be taking place on Saturday and remember they could get picked up if they don't obey the traffic laws. There's a good chance they could get stopped and receive a ticket."

Clemens says the Police Department conducts both announced and unannounced Saturation Patrols.

"We want people to know why we're doing these Saturation Patrols and traffic enforcement at all kinds of different times. Sometimes, it may be a couple of officers. Other times we could have a number of officers involved..We want to push the message that announced Saturation Patrols are to be taken seriously. Hopefully, people will be driving safely on the streets."

Clemens says the Saturation Patrol is scheduled for Saturday from 8:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M.

12 additional officers will participate in the day long event.
