The Sioux Falls Police Department will receive State Drug Control Fund monies to buy equipment.

Attorney General Marty Jackley says the SFPD will purchase surveillance and protective equipment for use in drug investigations with the $32,852 award.

Jackley says the Drug Control Fund was created to assist local law enforcement in the state in protecting their communities.

In a statement released through Jackley's office, Police Chief Doug Barthel says the Drug Control Fund has been "an excellent resource" for his department, and he appreciates the opportunity to use drug proceeds to help keep drugs off the streets in the city.
