Sioux Falls Police Officer Sam Clemens says arrests have been made in connection with the discovery of a meth lab.

"Sioux Falls Area Drug Task Force was able to get a warrant on a guy they were looking for in connection with manufacturing meth. He had two different apartments (1028 North Dakota Avenue). Officers found him and a woman that had left that apartment. They were stopped in connection with the search warrant. Once they got into the apartment, officers found a meth lab and components necessary to manufacture meth."

That's when officers made two arrests.

"One guy, Michael Berberith, was charged with several different counts of manufacturing drugs and the woman was charged with possession of controlled substance."

Clemens says smaller meth labs are becoming more common.

"The big labs went away when the laws limiting purchases of a chemical that used to get those large quantities. Since then, the people manufacturing meth found a different way. They're using these smaller labs. It's really what we're seeing now."

Although marijuana is the big drug in Sioux Falls, Clemens says meth is still the number two drug.
