Sioux Falls Police Kept Busy During Saturation Patrol [VIDEO]

I accompanied Sioux Falls Police Officer Bret Hamlyn during Saturday's Saturation Patrol.  Aside from Bret, 21 additional law enforcement officers (4 of them from the Highway Patrol) were involved in the operation.

Police Lt. Jerome Miller says I person was arrested for D.W.I.  There were 105 speeding citations issued in addition to 75 warning tickets as well as 7 narcotics arrests, 13 suspended or revoked drivers.  35 citations were issued in the complaint zones.  In total, 310 traffic citations were issued.

Lt. Miller says another Saturation Patrol is planned for the night of New Year's Eve.

The Saturation Patrol is funded through a state highway safety grant.
