Sioux Falls Police Issue Tickets in School Zones
I rode with Sioux Falls traffic police officer Doug Flora on Monday morning as he waited for speeding motorists at school zones.
Within a half hour, Officer Flora ticketed two motorists. One of them received a ticket costing $145 dollars. The motorist also didn’t have insurance.
The Sioux Falls Police Department, partnered with the South Dakota Highway Patrol and the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, is conducting a saturation of all school zones within the city of Sioux Falls. Several additional officers will work each day during school hours focusing on speed enforcement and accident avoidance in hopes of providing a safer environment for our children and the motoring public.
Officer Flora reminds motorists that the speed limit within a school zone is 15 mph.
