Sioux Falls Police Information Officer Sam Clemens says officers responded to a fight disturbance that included people with bats at 11th and Summit Avenue Monday night.

"The officers arrived and didn't find anybody. Eventually, they were able to locate a victim in the 200 block of South Prairie Avenue near the area. He had been beaten pretty severely having lost some teeth and suffered a lot of cuts on the head," explained Clemens.

"The officers were able to follow a blood trail that led them to that area of 11th and Summit Avenue. At this point we don't have any suspects. The victim had been drinking and because of his injuries wasn't able to tell us happened."

Clemens says detectives will be interviewing the victim in an effort to get details on the fighting and who was responsible.
