During Friday's Police Media Briefing at the Law Enforcement Center, Sioux Falls Police Information Officer Sam Clemens says authorities believe they know what caused a loud explosion after midnight.

"We had a lot of different people that heard this sound. They said some of the houses and trailers even shook because of the explosion. We weren't sure exactly what took place. It was around 6:30 AM this Friday morning when an officer found an area. There was burn marks on the ground and remnants of a pop bottle bomb. We're working on trying to figure out what was inside that pop bottle and who was responsible."

In another incident, Clemens says police are investigating an overnight stabbing.

"We had two different guys that ended up at the two Sioux Falls hospitals. Once had stab wounds to his head and neck. The other had some cuts to his head caused by some sort of blunt force trauma. Sounds like these two were in a car somewhere and something happened. We're not exactly sure what at this point. Doesn't sound like anybody else was involved. At this point, we don't have any arrests."

Both men suffered non-life threatening injuries.
