Sioux Falls Pastor: 1 Out Of 5 Kids Go Hungry [VIDEO]

Pastor Jeff Hayes of Faith Temple Church in Sioux Falls says one in eight South Dakotans are “food insecure.”  In other words, they don’t know where their next meal will come from.

That includes one in five children in South Dakota.

Pastor Hayes participated in a hunger roundtable discussion at the University of Sioux Falls on Thursday.

Pastor Hayes, the organizer of the weekly Food Giveaway at the Sioux Empire Fairgrounds, says people that are underemployed are unable to purchase food for their families.
