Police Lt. Dave McIntire says a Sioux Falls man ripped off two vehicles early Friday morning.

"We took a stolen vehicle report from Bagel Boy on South Minnesota Avenue. Unfortunately, a customer had left his Toyota Corolla running while getting a coffee. He came out and the car was gone."

Shortly after police were notified of the theft, another car was stolen.

"We had a stolen vehicle report from the Sheraton on West Russell. This was actually a Ford Mustang that was left running outside the doors of the hotel. When the driver came out, that car was gone as well."

And that vehicle was quickly spotted by an officer.

"He watched it go south bound on Interstate 229. Highway patrol trooper saw the vehicle and shortly that he was in a pursuit. They chased it around Interstate 229 and north bound on Interstate 29 and then on Maple Street. The vehicle struck a curb and blew a tire. Eventually, it stopped. The individual was then apprehended."

McIntire says 25-year-old Jacob Logue was charged with stealing both vehicles. The keys to the Toyotta Corolla were found in Logue's pocket.
