A Sioux Falls man who plead guilty to manslaughter in connection with the 2012 death of a Sioux Falls motorcyclist was sentenced to 20 years in prison today.

Brent O'Neal admitted to texting while driving before hitting three vehicles, a motorcycle and a light pole at the intersection of 26th & Minnesota in Sioux Falls in July 2012.

The motorcyclist, 33-year old Philip Sorenson, was killed in the crash.

O'Neal was sentenced to 20 years with 11 years suspended. The judge who handed down the sentence estimates that O'Neal will serve half of the sentence.

O'Neal was also ordered to pay $10,000 restitution.
