SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) — A trial date has been set in the dispute over a massive new home in the McKennan Park neighborhood of Sioux Falls.

The Argus Leader reports that a three-day court trial will start June 28 regarding the 5,000-square-foot home owned by Joseph and Sarah Sapienza. The Sapienzas' home is the subject of a lawsuit from their neighbors, Barbara and Pierce McDowell.

The McDowells contend that the Sapienzas' home was built so close to theirs that it keeps natural light from reaching their home, stops them from using their wood-burning fireplace and violates the Board of Historic Preservation's building standards. The lawsuit seeks unspecific punitive and compensatory damages.

The Sapienzas have said the neighbors failed to exhaust administrative remedies before filing suit.
