A Sioux Falls high school choir got the experience of a lifetime on Saturday, when they performed onstage with Eric Church at his sold-out show at the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center.

The Lincoln High School Choir, directed by Linda Conrad, was contacted by the Grammy Foundation earlier this winter to ask if they would be interested in joining Church for a song at his show.

The LHS Music Department was awarded a Community Award by the Grammy Foundation in 2010, putting them on the group's radar when it came to selecting a local choir for the performance.

Being a strong supporter of public music education, Eric Church is inviting a local high school choir to join him in a performance on each tour stop this year. When the choir was asked to participate, they of course said "Yes" right away.

The choir was provided with the music for the song 'Mistress Named Music' prior to Christmas break. They then spent two weeks preparing for the big performance.

On the day of the show, the choir arrived at the Premier Center at 4PM for rehearsal with Church's band. Conrad says:

"Their crew were absolutely AWESOME to work with and the experience the kids had was incredible.  They were treated so well and had so much fun!  It was one of those once in a lifetime experiences that they won't forget."

As a LHS choir alumni, I want to give an extra special 'congratulations' to the choir. They did an amazing job. Here's some photos from their admirable performance:
