SIOUX FALLS - Sioux Falls on Wednesday got its first May snowfall in 37 years.

The city was expected to get an inch or two of snow by nightfall, though it was melting quickly because of 40-degree weather.

The Argus Leader reported  that Sioux Falls had not had a May snowfall since 1976, and the last time the area had more than inch of snow in May was 1944.
