Sioux Falls Fire Rescue crews were called shortly before 9pm Sunday to a report of a structure fire in the 5200 block of South Carrick Avenue.

Battalion Chief Steve Brunette says the first crews on the scene found an attached garage fully involved in flames.

He says they had the fire out in about 20 minutes.

Brunette says there was minor fire extension into the home and moderate smoke damage in the home. A dog was found in the house and rescued.

He says inspectors were still working Monday morning to determine the cause of the fire.

No one was injured, but Brunette says everything in the garage was a total loss.

The Red Cross is assisting the residents.
