Arson investigators are looking into a couple of weekend fires on Sioux Falls' east side.

Lieutenant Matt Burns says police and Sioux Falls Fire Rescue units were called shortly after 2am Saturday to a report of a structure fire in the third Street and Wayland Avenue area.

When they arrived they found some wooden doors had been set on fire in the yard, causing a small amount of damage to the doors and to the residence.

A short time after that a second fire was reported near 4th Street and Sherman Avenue, and a fire was located in the 700 block of North Sherman, where Burns says someone had set fire to a garbage can next to a home.

No damage was reported, but Burns says SFPD and SFFR are looking into both incidents.
