You just never know what another person is going through. On the average, about one in four people live with some sort of a mental health condition. That means that someone you know has probably, at one time or another, had thoughts of suicide.

Suicide is a serious health problem that affects people of all ages and backgrounds.  To help bring awareness and to gain support for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP),  the Sioux Falls Area Out of the Darkness Community Walk will be raising much needed funds this Saturday, September 20, 2014. Walkers are asked to register either on-line by Friday, September 19, or on Saturday, September 20 from 9:00AM to 10:00AM at Terrace Park, 1100 W. 4th Street in Sioux Falls.

This community walk is just one of about 360 that will be taking place throughout the United States this fall. Funds raised during the walks will support research, education, advocacy, suicide prevention initiatives and programs that support those that have been impacted by suicide.

If you or someone you love is struggling and need some help, call the Suicide Prevention Lifeline.  The phone number is 1-800-273-8255.  You never know whose life you might save...it might even be your own.
