You've got to love a police department that has a sense of humor.  Sioux Falls Police knew they were in South Dakota when they pulled someone over and found the driver eating Chislic on a stick.  Here is what they tweeted.

I especially enjoyed the #nowimhungry. I love Chislic.  And you can order it restaurants all over Sioux Falls and throughout South Dakota.  But I had no idea that it was a food distinctly attributed to South Dakota.

This is how 'Chislic' is defined by Wikipedia:

Chislic (or sometimes chislick) is a traditional dish of cubed red meat most commonly localized to the state of South Dakota in the United States. The Chislic originally comes from Caucasus but also Russia, where the dish is cooked with pork. The term, while non-specific to any particular meat or seasoning, generally describes wild game, mutton, or beef which is deep-fried or grilled, and served hot on a skewer or toothpick.

As recent as last year I brought up Chislic in a conversation with a friend of mine from Texas and he had no idea what I was talking about.  So I whipped some up.

Once he dipped a few cubes in Ranch Dressing and gave 'em a try, he was hooked.  Quote: "That there is good eatin'"...
