It wasn’t supposed to go down this way. An angry owner tried his best to keep his boat, but got arrested.

The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office issued a press release detailing the events that occurred at 11:46 AM on Wednesday (April 26). The incident happened southeast of Harrisburg along Highway 11.

Men hired to repossess a boat were confronted by the owner whose displeasure was made known by firing several shots in their general direction. The repo men were able to get away with the boat, but the suspect was determined to maintain possession and decided to give chase.

In their haste to escape, the re-possessors must not have properly secured the boat. The watercraft became unhooked and wound up in the ditch near Highway 11 and 279th Street.

Investigators still have some work to do on this case. For now a 68-year old man whose name was not given faces three counts of aggravated assault and one count of reckless driving.
