Health experts warn shopping carts are filthy with germs.

A random test of some Tulsa, Oklahoma grocery stores found germs everywhere.

And researchers say it's not just confined to the Tulsa area - it's a problem in stores all across the country.

They learned that bacteria found on handles and seats of shopping carts can even contaminate your food.

The sanitizing wipes provided by many grocery stores are good, but in many cases it can take at least ten minutes of contact time just to kill what's already on the handle.

Researchers even uncovered some microscopic bacteria that can last up to four days.

So, the next time you're grocery shopping and see me in the store wearing rubber gloves, you'll know why.
