We were very sad to learn of a great loss to country music today (2/12). We recieved word around 9:20 AM that country singer Daryle Singletary had passed away.

Daryle was much to young for this to happen at the age of 46. And he had not been suffering any health issues.

The death came totally unexpectedly at his home in Lebanon, Tennessee. We ask for your prayers to go out to his family.

Daryle is survived by his wife, Holly, two sons, Jonah and Mercer, and two daughters, Nora and Charlotte. Also his parents, Roger and Anita Singletary, and brother, Kevin Singletary.

The only medical update we are getting early on, is the death was caused by a blood clot. We will wait for more information as it becomes available.

Daryle Bruce Singletary was born on March 10, 1971, in Cairo, Georgia. His musical integrity led him through years of celebrating the traditional country music style that he loved so much.

It was shocking news to get while I was hosting my morning show on the radio. I felt the loss of a friend. I first met Daryle in 2007 when he was performing in the town of Parker, South Dakota. I recently had him as a guest on my radio show.

Country music has suffered a great loss. I would like to share one of the greatest recordings of all time in my opinion. Here's Daryle Singletary singing "The Note":
