Shania Twain is currently serving as a key advisor on The Voice, and amazingly, it was the first time she had met Blake Shelton.

“The only person I had never met was Blake. He is just really sweet and kind,” Twain tells Entertainment Tonight. “He was very nurturing and caring and welcoming to me. He's a gentleman and he's so witty, he's so funny and he knows all my songs!"

Twain adds that the entire cast and crew have made her feel at home. She's the first key advisor on the show to get her own chair, and she couldn't be more happy to be a part of The Voice.

“The contestants have been so gracious. They are so grateful to have the opportunity with their own coaches. They are ready to learn, they’re open-minded and so that was like, wow, that was great," she adds. This is the way that it should be. This is a great working environment."

See Shania Throughout Her Career

Twain recently announced her new single, "Life's About to Get Good," which will be released in June. Those headed to Stagecoach 2017 will get to hear the singer debut the song when she headlines the festival Saturday night (April 29). The new album marks her creative independence, she says — something she's thankful for having now.

"Creative independence is something I haven't had in a really long time and it was really scary taking that leap," Twain explains. "I feel relieved, I feel good. The first single is so optimistic and hopeful regardless of how bad life can get and I really needed that message. I needed the whole album, it was like therapy."
