Several People Charged Following Underage Drinking Party in Sioux Falls
Several people were charged after what Sioux Falls police say was an underage drinking party Friday night.
Information Officer Sam Clemens says police were initially called around 11pm Friday for a bonfire in the backyard in the 1800 block of North Van Eps Avenue, but they found 25 people.
Most of the people ran when police arrived, but Clemens says a few were caught:
Clemens says the 17-year-old Humboldt girl who was driving the car was charged with underage consumption, fleeing police, hit-and-run, curfew violation and marijuana and paraphernalia possession. A 16-year-old passenger was cited for underage consumption, fleeing police and a curfew violation.
The resident of the home, 59-year-old Sandra Lee Gayken, was charged with maintaining a common nuisance, five counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor and possession of marijuana and paraphernalia, and two girls, 13 and 17 years of age, were charged with underage consumption.
