Authorities have arrested the remaining fugitives.  The suspects were apprehended after abandoning a stolen vehicle by Riverside Road in Mitchell.

Police in Yankton received calls for help from two locations as robbers attempted to break inside on Tuesday December 22, 2015 which led to tracking suspects overnight to Mitchell South Dakota and the Quality Inn.

The first attempted home invasion in the 1300 block of Cedar Street in Yankton. According to Saga Communications in Yankton, Police Chief Brian Paulsen says a homeowner was able to scare the three individuals off without incident at 9:30 PM. About an hour later, other residents reported being robbed at gunpoint by four individuals. Officers determined the two incidents were related and that the suspects had left the area. Mitchell Police made contact with the suspects’ vehicle during the night and have arrested 2 males, Demil Spears and another unidentified man.

Three people are still being sought:  two black men and Hailee Horn, a female.  Authorities have secured an area just north of I-90 in Mitchell targeting the Quality Inn.  Other guests were evacuated overnight for their safety and residents are being advised to stay away from the area.

The suspect vehicle is a Black Ford F150 pickup with licens eplate 8DD419. Yankton police say the subjects should be considered armed and dangerous, and to notify local law enforcement if the truck is sighted.
