A daytime saturation patrol on Saturday in Sioux Falls resulted in well over 100 speeding tickets written.

Officer Sam Clemens says the city-wide saturation began at 8am Saturday and ended at 4pm, and it focused on impaired drivers, seat belt usage, red light violations and other factors that can cause crashes.

He says the officers made one DWI arrest, wrote 124 speeding tickets and 44 ticvkets for no insurance.

They also wrote 15 tickets for seat belt violations and 12 tickets to motorists who did not have a driver's license.

Clemens says the 18 additional officers also wrote 50 warnings, for an overall total of 292 warnings and citations in 51 complaint zones around the city.
