This year will be the fourth year that the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference will play their basketball tournament at the Sanford Pentagon and they couldn't have found a more perfect place to host their annual event.

No other market where a NSIC school plays has a better fit all things considered than Sioux Falls and the friendly confines of the Pentagon.

The size of the venue, the treatment of the teams by the Pentagon staff, the support of the corporate sponsors including Sanford, its location as far as travel for member schools and the community of Sioux Falls itself make this a wonderful partnership that has seen the tournament reach new heights.

It didn't hurt in 2016 that Augustana University and its men's basketball team began their trip toward a DII National title by winning the NSIC Tournament at the Pentagon in front of capacity crowds throughout the event as well.

The Sanford Pentagon is already known nationally as a premier basketball facility that has hosted some high profile games from Wisconsin-St. Johns to Minnesota-Vanderbilt and many more.

That exposure has many eyes throughout the country continually checking in on the happenings at the Pentagon which only has created more exposure for the NSIC and their conference tournament.

This year will be no different and in fact, with both the University of Sioux Falls and Augustana University having both men's and women's teams in the field it will make for a even larger crowd than may be expected.

The expanding crowds wont just be limited to Augustana or USF, with Northern State and Southwest Minnesota State also in action on Sunday night, that session may be a record breaker.

The facility is great, the hospitality is great but so is the basketball.

The NSIC has a great group of coaches in both the men's and women's game and the talent level I would stack up against any DII conference in the country.

Mix it all together and you have a great event, in a great facility, in a great city.  Enjoy the basketball sports fans!
