Kenny Chesney topped Pink Floyd's 20-year-old attendance record on Saturday (Aug. 6) while performing at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif.

A press release reports that 47,862 fans joined Chesney, Miranda Lambert, Sam Hunt and Old Dominion at the Spread the Love Tour stop in California. But the "Setting the World on Fire" singer had one more surprise up his sleeve for those attending his record-breaking concert ...

Midway through his set, Sammy Hagar joined the country superstar on stage for a spirited performance of "I Can't Drive 55." Chesney handed him a drink before the two began to sing the song together. While the audience no doubt enjoyed the surprise performance, as it turns out Hagar himself also had a blast.

“I couldn’t believe hearing 50,000 people scream '55' at the top of their lungs,” Hagar writes on his website, recalling the performance. “Certainly one of the highlights of my year musically so far.”

Chesney's Spread the Love Tour still has a few weekends left on the map as the singer gears up to release his new album. He recently revealed his new single "Setting the World on Fire" with Pink. It is the second single off his forthcoming October release, Cosmic Hallelujah.

“You can’t conjure a song that captures that feeling of being on the brink like this does,” Chesney explains of the song. "The lyrics are a perfect way of saying it, but when you feel that melody rise, the arrangement picking up momentum – it’s bigger than you are, and all you want to do is throw yourself against the night. Then when Pink comes in, well, that just brings this (song) to life."
