S.F. Swat Team Commander: Protecting Our Kids [VIDEO]

In light of the tragic Connecticut shooting, Sioux Falls Swat Team Commander Sgt. Jeff Garden says law enforcement officers are training year round similar situations in our community.

"We prepare by training our patrol officers to respond because they will be the first responders.  Also during the off-times in the schools, we will in as a Swat team and train in our schools."

Sgt. Garden says preparation is the bottom line in protecting our kids and and citizens.  "Our school resource officers have a very effective rapid deployment program.  Our patrol officers are all very competent.  They would be the first responders. Swat would come in afterwards."
