Today is Kiss a Ginger Day a metaphorical term to honor redheads in our midst. Of course if you dishonor one with a hot temper, meaning most of them, Lord have mercy.

I only have to go as far as my mother for that privilege. Plus there are many in her family tree who can say the same.

Marianne was one of five children with four of them sporting those flaming locks which would be directly attributed to her mother who was a redhead back in the day.

Neither myself nor my sisters are redheads although I will claim that status through my beard. Every other branch of my first cousins has streaks of red flowing through as seven out of eleven make the cut. From there, the tradition has been passed to the next generation with an accurate number a little harder to grasp. Make no mistake more of them are coming in my bloodline.

You may “Kiss your Ginger” today or you may not. Remember no matter what color you have on top, we all have it flowing through our veins inside.
