In Kansas City when we were attending the National NAFB Convention, we had a talk with Richard Plackemeier of CHS. He is the Branch Manager for the company.

We covered topics of the down markets and how long the cycle will last. We also got an update on global markets.

I asked Richard the very difficult question of what strategies a grower can use. He agreed that this is a tough thing to answer.

Richard said, "Pushing corn above that magic number of $4 is going to be tough. Production is inching higher on these USDA Reports and our supply is just very adequate."

He also pointed out, "One of our biggest challenges is the U.S. dollar is so strong versus other world currencies. It's hurting our exports."
