Restless Heart recently paid tribute to Glen Campbell by recording a new version of his classic song, "Wichita Lineman," and they're letting Taste of Country readers be the first to see their brand-new video for the song.

The group had a run of hits in the 1980s and '90s that included "I'll Still Be Loving You," "Why Does It Have to Be (Wrong or Right)" and "When She Cries." They took some time off and re-formed in 2002, and they have recorded and toured steadily ever since.

The band applied its signature vocal harmonies to "Wichita Lineman," releasing the Jimmy Webb-penned track on Feb. 29, 2016, as a tribute to Campbell, who first encouraged them to record a Webb song 30 years ago at a show on a riverboat in Mississippi. Webb is responsible for many of Campbell's top songs, including "By the Time I Get to Phoenix," "Where's the Playground Susie," "Galveston" and "Still Within the Sound of My Voice."

"We had some time to relax on the boat before our performances," recalls Restless Heart's Dave Innis. "Glen was telling stories and at one point he said, 'You guys should cut a Jimmy Webb song.'"

"We were blessed to work with Glen on a number of show dates throughout the years," Larry Stewart adds. "It is an honor to know one of the finest talents of our time. In honor of Glen, Restless Heart could record no greater song than 'Wichita Lineman.'"

Innis and Harry Smith co-produced the group's take on "Wichita Lineman," which marks the group's first new music release in almost three years. In the video above, singer Larry Stewart sings the song in his clear, strong tenor, backed by a subtle-yet-contemporary arrangement sweetened with the group's beautiful vocal harmonies. Innis replaces Campbell's guitar solo with a simple, elegant piano interlude. The clip intercuts shots of the band members recording the song in the studio.

"This is one of our finest collaborations as a band," Innis tells Rolling Stone Country of the track. "Each one of us put our own personal touch on this track, vocally and musically. Since all of the Restless Heart guys are such big admirers of Glen, it's nice that we finally took his suggestion 30 years later and cut a Jimmy Webb song!"
