For the first time ever, Americans are spending more money at restaurants and bars than at grocery stores. And according to the American Restaurant Association, you can blame the millennials for the switch in spending.

Analysts say dining out is now viewed as a "social event." The Commerce Department also credits the booming online and mobile delivery industry as another reason for the change in behavior.

It's estimated that in as many as 800 cities across the country, you can now order directly from the restaurant of your choice - whether that be for delivery or pickup.
