SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) - The South Dakota Board of Regents will meet in Pierre Tuesday afternoon to consider a design plan for a $3.79 million headhouse and greenhouse at South Dakota State University.

The facility would be funded with $1 million from the Higher Education Facilities Fund and nearly $2.8 million in private gifts, Plant Science service fees, and Foundation Seed Stock funds.

Although the headhouse will eventually be used as support and laboratory space for the greenhouses, its first use next fall will be to serve as interim space for sculpture, ceramics, and three-dimensional design classes. The building will be converted when SDSU's visual arts program moves into its new home.

The regents in March approved a preliminary facility statement allowing SDSU to move forward with planning the project.
